The Ezy-Guard 4 system has been fully crash tested to MASH TL3 and also NCHRP-350 TL4, this is an 8000kg truck impacting the rail at 80km/h and 15 degrees.
This system offers superior occupant risk characteristics by imposing lower forces to the impacting vehicle than traditional guardrail crash barriers. As the crash barrier deflects, vehicle impact energy is dissipated through yielding of the posts and tensile forces exerted on the W-Beam. The lightweight, ductile Z-posts provide a forgiving impact, reduce ride-down deceleration forces and minimise occupant risk.
With a system width of just 200mm, Ezy-Guard 4 is significantly narrower than traditional guardrail barriers that incorporate the use of blocking pieces. Ezy-Guard 4 conserves valuable formation width and allows a greater recovery width to be provided for errant vehicles.
The system also offers rapid installation when compared to other barrier systems with a quickly driven 875mm of post in ground and no concrete required.
